Simon Napier-Bell

Here's my portrait of Simon Napier-Bell (24" x 24" oil on canvas). Simon gave a talk at one of the Creative Networks events I attended at Leeds College of Art (my old college). He managed The Yarbirds, Marc Bolan, George Michael and Wham! among others. He also wrote "You don't have to say you love me" for Dusty Springfield.

Mallard Illustration
This was one of a series of illustrations for Leeds Metropolitan University to promote their Lifeplan Project, a life and career, personal and professional management course.

Bagatidy Handbag Organiser

I also had the great delight of playing a key role in the development of the Bagatidy brand. I was responsible for the design and origination of the graphic elements that can be seen here when you go to read about the best new handbag organiser that there ever was!

Kokopelli Triptych
Please see more of my Kokopelli paintings. The Kokopelli has been a sacred, mythical figure in The Americas for thousands of years. The mysterious, humpbacked flute playing Kokopelli is an ancient symbol of fertility, replenishment, music, dance, mischief and good deeds. Read more about The Kokopelli.

A Raging Calm

This was an illustration I did some time ago for Stan Barstow's "A Raging Calm". I can't leave it out because I put my wife and son in it, as they were with me when I was scouting for scenes around Cleckhuddersfax (I don't know whose cat that was). Wouldn't you know it, when the book came out, they'd slapped a barcode right over them! Never mind....

Uncle George

When I was about fourteen or so, I decided I was far too grown up to call my aunties and uncles "Auntie this" or "Uncle that" so they all lost their titles forever. (This of course was a great mistake). Uncle George became a victim of the "purge" along with all the others; (Not that I remember him being the slightest bit bothered). George was not actually a "real" uncle in any case but he was my real Godfather; A kinder, gentler more generous man never lived.

artwalk

Lately, I've been joining the monthly "Leeds Artwalks" run by Pavilion. If you enjoy sharing your interest in art and can make your way around the city, I strongly recommend giving it a try.

Sir Jimmy in the sunshine

Last but not least is my portrait of Sir Jimmy Savile OBE KCSG. The portrait, showing Sir Jimmy at the Lakeside Cafe at Roundhay Park, accompanied Sir Jimmy's Bevin Boys Exhibition.

All the images here appear with permission; I remain very grateful to Sir Jimmy (Rest in Peace Sir Jimmy) and all the above for letting me put their stuff on here.

Hope to keep adding more.....
